    Laws Governing DEW

    State laws and regulations govern the Unemployment Insurance plan’s administration.

    In 2010, the General Assembly passed two reform bills affecting DEW. One bill affects contributions and payments to the Unemployment Trust Fund. The other bill replaced the Employment Security Commissioners with the Workforce Department Appellate Panel, transferred the Workforce Investment Act program to DEW, and renamed the agency.
